Why My Curls Love VEGAMOUR's GRO+ Advanced Shampoo & Conditioner

My Curly Hair Woes 

When it comes to curly hair, quality and quantity are definitely not the same. I’ve had seriously curly locks since elementary school, but because I was the first person in my family to have such voluminous strands, I didn’t know how to care for them properly.

My GRO+ Wash Day Experience

I got the GRO+ Advanced Replenishing Shampoo and Conditioner Set, ensuring I would have everything I needed to see if the GRO+ formula made a difference when wash day rolled around. Reading the label of my new shampoo and conditioner set, I was immediately intrigued — and it didn’t hurt that it smelled great when I popped open the bottle for a sniff.

I was impressed with the mildness of the formula, which is designed to use every day if that’s your hair care routine. It also gets you clean enough to last a few days if you, like me, try to avoid over-washing your curly hair. It’s designed to thoroughly clean your scalp while nourishing your strands, not stripping them of protective oils like other formulas.

My first wash day using GRO+ I was immediately struck by the creaminess of both the shampoo and conditioner. I usually need to slather on huge amounts of shampoo and conditioner to clean my voluminous strands, but with GRO+, a little went a long way. 

First, I washed my hair using the shampoo, applying a quarter-sized amount and lathering it up until my head was covered in suds. I was impressed with how clean my scalp felt using only the recommended amount. After washing out my hair thoroughly, my scalp felt rejuvenated.

Conditioner was next. I usually apply it by the palmful but I decided to do things the right way and stick to the dose recommended on the bottle, using a quarter-sized amount again. I worked it carefully through my strands and let it soak in for a while, singing a few showtunes to pass the time. When I rinsed it out, my hair follicles felt smoother and fuller than before conditioning. 

After washing, my hair felt immediately silkier and more hydrated, not crispy or stressed out as it often does after I use conventional shampoos. As my hair dried, I noticed that my curls seemed to have extra definition and less frizziness than I was used to. My hair health journey was beginning on a positive note.

How This Duo Helped My Hair Thrive 

Over the next few weeks of using VEGAMOUR’S GRO+ Advanced Replenishing Shampoo and Conditioner Set with every wash day, I was amazed to see the difference in my strands. The botanical blend in the formulas had calmed my irritation, removing impurities from my roots, while the vegan alternative to keratin had bonded with my strands, repairing damage and cutting down on shedding.
